The problem

A paper receipt costs you more than paper.

With every transaction you spend money on a piece of paper that hits the bin within five minutes. No customer data. No email address. No reason to come back. Your best marketing moment — a happy customer leaving your store — gets thrown away with the receipt.

How it works

This is how Taply works.

Three moments, from tap to review — this is what your customer sees.

Customer taps the device

One tap of a smartphone on the Taply tile next to your till. No app, no download, no account — iPhone and Android alike.

Receipt opens in the browser

Within a second the receipt opens on your customer’s phone — your branding, every item and total neatly listed. One tap to save it as a PDF or photo.

Customer leaves an email or Google review

On that same receipt your customer can voluntarily leave their email (with GDPR consent), and one tap on the review button takes them straight to your Google page. Your mailing list and reviews grow on their own.

Works with

Every modern till. No exceptions.

Taply works alongside your existing till. No integration, no API, no IT work.

No integration

Taply sits next to your till, not inside it. No connection to your existing system required.

No IT work

Plug in via USB-C, scan a QR code to pair, and you are live.

Works everywhere

Compatible with any POS system that can print or digitally generate a receipt.

Sustainable business

Good for your margin. Better for the planet.

Stores in the Netherlands and Belgium print around 7 billion receipts a year. That costs over 77,000 trees, millions of litres of water and plenty of CO₂ — for slips of paper that hit the bin within five minutes.

Every receipt that stays digital no longer counts toward that. No paper roll, no BPA coating, no guilt at the till.

0 paper rolls
No BPA or BPS
100% paperless

Every digital receipt = one leaf that stays on the tree.

What you get in return

More than a digital receipt. A whole growth engine.

No app, no friction

Customers tap and see the receipt right in their browser. No downloads. No accounts. No manual.

Your mailing list grows by itself

Every transaction is a chance to get to know your customer. On average 35% of customers voluntarily leave their email — with explicit GDPR consent.

More Google reviews, effortlessly

The digital receipt carries a review button: one tap takes your customer straight to your Google page. Without that hurdle, far more happy customers actually leave a review.

Works with your current till

WiFi till, mobile POS or a classic register with a receipt printer — Taply sits next to it, not in between. No new hardware, no IT engineer.

GDPR-proof to the core

All customer data is cryptographically protected and stays within the EU. Explicit opt-in. Full data export on request. No lock-in, no fine print.

Sixty-second installation

Tile out of the box. Scan the QR code. Enter your WiFi password. Done. No invoice for an installer. No risk for your business.

What your customer sees

One experience. Entirely yours.

Your customer sees your logo, your colours, your brand identity — the receipt is fully your brand, exactly like in your store.

Right below the receipt sits a review button. One tap and your customer is on your Google page — at the exact moment the experience is still fresh. That is how you effortlessly collect more honest reviews.

  • Fully white-labeled customer experience
  • Review button on the receipt: one tap to your Google page
  • GDPR consent as the default, not an afterthought
  • Works offline too: the tile buffers during network outages
Regulation

Countries are already starting to tackle paper receipts

What once seemed like a harmless slip of paper is increasingly seen as a health, environmental and regulatory problem. Taply helps retailers be ready for a paperless future today.

  • Governments are taking a harder look at thermal paper
  • BPA and BPS are under pressure over health concerns
  • Digital receipts make retailers more future-proof
Legislation in motion

Washington State bans bisphenols in receipt paper

From 2026, receipts in Washington State may no longer contain harmful bisphenols such as BPA and BPS. These substances are used in thermal paper and are linked to hormone-disrupting effects. It shows that governments are taking receipt paper ever more seriously.

Forward-thinking retailers don’t wait for rules to change — they are already making their checkout digital, safer and more sustainable.
